Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and don’t breathevapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and don’t smokewhen using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medicalattention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made, flushwith large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, wash eyeswith water and get medical aid immediately.a. Clean all parts using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using clean cloths.b. Inspect spindle mounting area on front chassis and rear chassis for rust orother foreignmounting areathat mounting5/8-11 tap.matter. Remove rust using scratch wire brush. Clean spindleusing clean cloth moistened with cleaning solvent P-D-680. Checkcapscrew holes are not cross threaded. If necessary, chase usingNOTEReplace an item if inspection indicatesc. Inspect lubrication fittings (7) for foreignneed for replacement.matter, cracks, or damagedthreads.d. Check bushings (12) for groovese. Check thrust bearings (4 and 6)or other damage.f. Using hydraulic press and 2-9/16 inches inside diameter sleeve, press newthrust bearing (4) onto spindle (3).b. Put spindle (3) on clean surface and install new O-ring (5) on spindle.c.
