MALFUNCTION

1. ENGINE HARD TO START OR WILL NOT START (NO EXHAUST SMOKE) (Cont).
Step 3.
Check fuel injector nozzles
looseness.
a. If fuel injector nozzles
are loose, tighten.
b. If fuel injector nozzles
are not loose, go to step 4
below.

Remove fuel injector nozzles (page 3-107).
Inspect fuel injector nozzles and gaskets for damage.
a. If gaskets are damaged, replace (page 3-113). If fuel injector
nozzles are damaged, repair (page 4-80).
b. If fuel injector nozzles and gaskets are okay, go to step 5
below.
Step 5. Perform engine compression check (page 3-12).
