TM 5-3805-262-34 3-12 BRAKE SYSTEM MAINTENANCE (CONT) e. Air Compressor Assembly (Cont). (1) Cylinder Head and Unloader (Cont). REASSEMBLY (SHEET 1 OF 3) (a) (b) (c) (d) Put cylinder head (14) in vise with machined surface up. Install new gasket (26) and outlet port (25) on cylinder head (14). Secure using two lock washers (24) and cap- screws (23). If removed, install plug (22) in cylinder head (14). Install new inlet valve (21) on valve guard (20). Use lu- bricating oil to hold inlet valve in position. (e) Put inlet valve (21) and valve guard (20) in cylinder head (14). Using hammer, lightly hit valve guard to press into cylinder head. (f) If valve guard (20) is loose, or a new valve guard is used, stake valve guard in place using hammer and center punch. (g) Repeat steps (d) through (f) above for remaining inlet valve (21) and valve guard (20). (h) Install new washer (19) in each bore in cylinder head (14). (i) Install two seats (18), flange end down, in cylinder head (14). (j) Install new spring (17) on each seat (18). (k) Install new exhaust valve (16) in stop (15). Use clean grease to hold exhaust valve in posi- tion. 3-472
