AirCompressorAssembly(Cont).(2) Cylinder Block and Crankcase (Cont).DISASSEMBLY (SHEET 1 OF 3)(a) Remove six capscrews (1).(b) Hit cylinder block (2) withrubber mallet to break sealof gasket (7). Remove cyl-inder block assembly (2thru 6).(c) Remove two capscrews (3), lockwashers (4), inlet port (5),and gasket (6). Discard gasket.(d) Remove and discard gasket (7).If necessary, use putty knifeto remove gasket.NOTETag front and rear piston and connecting rod assemblies (8 thru 18)mating parts before disassembling to ensure reassembly in originallocations. Keep mating parts together.(e)(f)(g)(h)(i)(j)(k)(l)Turn air compressor assembly on its side and remove four lock nuts (8).Remove two connecting rod caps (9) and inserts (10). Discard inserts.Remove two piston and connectingrod assemblies (10 thru 18) fromcrankcase (30).Install connecting rod caps (9)and lock nuts (8) on connectingrods (12) and capscrews (11) toensure that mating parts arekept together.Remove and discard three com-pression rings (13), two oilrings (14), and expander ring(15) from piston (18).Remove two buttons (16) frompiston (18).Put piston (18) and connecting rod (12) in hydraulic press.Press wrist pin (17) from piston (18) using 3/8 inch diameter rod.3-476
