Repeat steps (i) through (1) above for
remaining piston (18) and connecting rod
(12).
Remove four capscrews (19) and
end cover (20) from crankcase
(30). Hit end cover with
rubber mallet, if necessary,
to break seal of gasket (21).
Remove and discard gasket (21). If necessary,
use putty knife to remove gasket.
Remove four capscrews (22) and
bearing cap (23) from
crankcase (30). If necessary,
hit bearing cap with rubber
mallet to break seal of gasket
(25).
Remove and discard gasket
(25). If necessary, use putty
knife to remove gasket.
(r) Put bearing cap
cap using 2-1/8
(23) in hydraulic press. Press seal (24) from bearing
inches diameter rod or sleeve.
