3-13. FLOWMETER TESTS (CONT)
TEST NO. 1 - HYDRAULIC PUMP STEERING SECTION (SHEET 5 OF 5)

If flow recorded in step r above is less than that recorded in step p, it
indicates that steering section of hydraulic pump is worn or damaged.
Determine efficiency of steering section as described below.
Divide flow recorded in step r above by flow recorded in step p above.
Example: flow recorded in step p=24 gallons per minute; flow recorded in
step r above=21 gallons per minute.
21/24=.875=87.5 percent efficient.

If efficiency as determined above is below 75 percent, replace hydraulic
pump (page 3-612).

Remove cap installed in step g above from check valve (15) and install
fitting (16) on check valve.
y.
Remove plug installed in tube (17) and connect tube to fitting (16). Install
cap on fitting (16) to which hose (18) was connected.
z. Perform test no. 2 below (page 3-505).
