AuxiliarySteeringMotor(Cont).REASSEMBLY (SHEET 1 OF 4)NOTEDo not perform steps (1) and (2) below unless terminal assemblies (38thru(1)(2)46) were removed.To install ground terminal stud (43), place terminal (44) then insulatorwasher (46) on stud. Install these parts in lower hole in housing (48).Then, install bushing (42). Be sure bushing is installed so that it isbetween body of terminal stud and housing to insulate stud from housing.Install insulator washer (41), washer (40), lock washer (39), and nut(38). Tighten nut securely. Loosely install another lock washer (39) andnut (40) on ground terminal stud.To install remaining terminal stud (43), install stud through terminal offield coil (47) then place washer (45) and insulator washer (46) on stud.Install these parts in upper hole in housing (48), Then, install bushing(42). Be sure bushing is installed so that it is between body of terminalstud and housing to insulate stud from housing. Install insulator washer(41), washer (40), lock washer (39), and nut (38). Tighten nut securely.NOTEDo not perform steps (3) through (6) below unless fan (19) and bearings(17(3)(4)(5)(6)and 18) were removed.Install Woodruff key (20) in armature (21) shaft using hammer and punch.Put armature (21) in hydraulic press. Position fan (19) on armatureshaft. Be sure slot in fan and Woodruff key are alined. Press fan ontoarmature shaft using 3/4 inch inside diameter sleeve bearing on inner rimof fan.Position bearing (18) on armature (21) shaft. Press bearing onto shaftusing 3/4 inch inside diameter sleeve bearing on inner race of bearing.Turn armature (21) upside down in hydraulic press. Position bearing (17)on armature shaft. Using 1/2 inch inside diameter sleeve bearing on innerrace of bearing, press bearing onto armature shaft.3-550
