2-5. FUEL SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT)
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. FUEL INJECTION PUMP NOT OPERATING PROPERLY (Cont).
Step 9.
Release fuel control lever. Watch rack travel dial indicator and
operate fuel control lever until 0.339 inch rack travel is obtained
as indicated by dial indicator. Lock fuel control lever in this
position.
Check and be sure that fuel
forward (towards drive end of fuel injection pump).
Set test bench for 1000 strokes.
Turn on test bench and operate fuel injection pump at 375 rpm.
Take a test draw of fuel delivered from each cylinder of fuel injec-
tion pump.
