1. FUEL INJECTION PUMP NOT OPERATING PROPERLY (Cont).
Step 10. (Cont).
a. If rack travel dial indicator stopped between zero and 0.03
inch, go to step 11 below.
b.
If rack travel dial indicator did not stop between zero and 0.03
inch, disassemble governor (steps (1) thru (13), page 3-173)
just to the point of gaining access to shims (45) (page 3-172).
Install shims to increase rack travel; remove shims to decrease
rack travel. Reassemble governor (page 3-183). Repeat this step
to recheck guide sleeve shimming.
Step 11. Remove plug located at top of governor housing.
Pull back fuel control lever and screw in swivel lever adjusting
screw completely. Note that adjusting screw clicks four times for
each complete turn. Four clicks or one complete revolution will
change rack travel by 0.0394 inch.
