Put a rod through one hole in
spool (30). Put spool (30)
with rod installed in a soft
jawed vise as shown.
Install poppet (35) and spring
(34) in spool (30).
Put a small amount of retain-
ing compound on threads of
spool (30).
Install new O-ring (33) and
spacer (32) on spool eye (31).
Install spool eye in spool
(30) and tighten to 19 to 21
lb-ft.
Lubricate spool (30) and its
bore in control valve body
using clean lubricating oil.
Install spool in its bore.
Install rod or prybar in spool
eyes.
Don't overtighten vise in
following step. To do so
will cause damage to control
valve body.

Put control valve assembly in
a soft jawed vise.

Install poppet (29) and spring
(28) in spool (30).
(9)
Install new O-ring (27) on stud ( 2 6 ) .
(10) Put a small amount of retaining compound on threads of spool ( 30).
(11) Install stud (26) in spool (30) and tighten to 19 to 21 lb-ft.
(12) Install new O-ring (25) and washer (24) in
(13) Install spring seat (23) , spring (22), and
(14) Install detent housing (20) and tighten to
control valve body.
