3-24. TILT CYLINDER ASSEMBLIES MAINTENANCE (CONT)
DISASSEMBLY (SHEET 3 OF 3)
f.
Remove pistons (3 and 4) and associated parts (5 and 6) from rod (16) .
g.
Remove gland (14) and associated parts (7 thru 13) from rod (16). If neces-
sary, use soft hammer.
h.
Separate pistons (3 and 4) from ring (6).
i.
Remove and discard packing assembly (5) from each piston (3 and 4).
j.
Remove and discard O-ring (7) and backup ring (8) from gland (14).
k.
Remove and discard wiper (11).
l.
Remove and discard two seals (9 and 10).
m. Remove and discard bushing (12) from gland (14).
n.
Remove and discard plug (13) only if gland (14) has been removed from cylin-
der tube (19) five times.
o.
If necessary, remove lubrication fitting (17) from cylinder tube (19).
NOTE
Perform following steps only if inspection indicates bushings (15 and
18) require replacement.
p.
Using hammer and 2-3/8 inches diameter rod, drive bushing (15) from rod (16)
eye.
q.
Using hammer and 2-3/4 inches diameter rod, drive two bushings (18) from
cylinder tube (19).
