COUNTERWEIGHT INSTALLATION CONTINUED
2. Remove side counterweights (Figure 10, Item 1) from shipping pallet.
3. Slide counterweight removal tool (Figure 10, Item 6) through hole (Figure 10, Item 5) in side counterweight
(Figure 10, Item 1).
4. Install bracket link (Figure 10, Item 3), bolt (Figure 10, Item 2), two washers (Figure 10, Item 8) and nut
(Figure 10, Item 7) on other end of counterweight removal tool (Figure 10, Item 6).
5. Install pin (Figure 10, Item 4) through counterweight removal tool (Figure 10, Item 6) into hole next to large
spring loaded pin near bracket link (Figure 10, Item 3).
6. Install two nylon slings to two bracket links (Figure 10, Item 3) at ends of counterweight removal tool
(Figure 10, Item 6) and to appropriate lifting device.
WARNING
Use extreme caution when installing counterweight to ensure fingers are not caught
between counterweight and machine during alignment or installation to prevent injury to
personnel.
7. Install side counterweight (Figure 10, Item 1), two washers (Figure 10, Item 9) and bolts (Figure 10, Item 10) on
machine.
8. Remove two nylon slings from two bracket links (Figure 10, Item 3) and lifting device.
NOTE
Do not install bracket link or pin back onto counterweight removal tool until told to do so in
procedure.
