REMOVAL

1. Remove cap from hydraulic tank (TM 5-2420-231-10).
NOTE
The procedure for stabilizer cylinder removal and replacement is identical for left-hand and
right-hand stabilizer cylinder. Right-hand stabilizer cylinder is shown in this procedure.
2. Remove clamp (Figure 1, Item 3) and resilient mount (Figure 1, Item 2) from stabilizer cylinder
(Figure 1, Item 1).
3. Disconnect hose (Figure 1, Item 4) from fitting (Figure 1, Item 5).
4. Disconnect hose (Figure 1, Item 9) from fitting (Figure 1, Item 10).
NOTE
Note position and orientation of fitting to aid in installation.
5. Loosen nut (Figure 1, Item 6) and remove fitting (Figure 1, Item 5) and O-ring (Figure 1, Item 7) from stabilizer
cylinder (Figure 1, Item 1). Discard O-ring.
6. Remove fitting (Figure 1, Item 11) and O-ring (Figure 1, Item 12) from stabilizer cylinder (Figure 1, Item 1).
Discard O-ring.
7. Attach sling and lifting device to stabilizer cylinder (Figure 1, Item 1).
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of
suitable load capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to
follow this warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Stabilizer cylinder weighs 93 lb (42 kg).
8. Remove two retaining rings (Figure 1, Item 8) and pin (Figure 1, Item 9) from stabilizer cylinder
(Figure 1, Item 1).
