b . O i l F i l t e r .
This task covers replacement of the engine oil filter. If engine
is new, change engine oil and filter after first 20 hours of operation. Then, change
oil filter with each oil change (refer to LO 5-3805-262-12).

Engine oil filter (FSCM 72530 PN SK6711519)

PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE: Engine oil drained (page 4-2).

Turn engine oil filter counterclock-
wise to remove. Discard filter.
Apply a thin film of clean oil to
g a s k e t o f n e w o i l f i l t e r.

i n s t a l l e n g i n e o i l f i l t e r i n f o l l o w-
ing step. To do so may cause an oil
l e a k d u e t o f i l t e r b e i n g d e n t e d by
f i l t e r s t r a p w r e n c h .

Turn new filter onto base until oil
filter gasket contacts base. Continue
t o t i g h t e n o i l f i l t e r 1 / 2 t o 3 / 4 t u r n
with your hand.
Install 20 quarts of engine oil (page
4 - 2 ) .
Start engine and run at idle speed
for five minutes. Check for oil leaks
a r o u n d e n g i n e o i l f i l t e r . I f o il
leakage is observed, tighten engine
o i l f i l t e r .
Stop engine and check oil level (page
4-2).
