REMOVAL (SHEET 2 OF 2)
(10) Remove two capscrews (15) and lock washers (13). Mark capscrews (15) to
aid installation.
(11) Support timing gear cover (19). Remove three capscrews (16), lock washers
(13), and spacer (18).
(12) Start to remove timing gear cover
(19) carefully while ensuring
that it clears camshaft idler
gear, crankshaft, and then water
pump housing. You may have to
twist and turn timing gear cover
to clear these three parts.
(13) Remove and discard gasket (20).
(14) If necessary to prevent loss,
remove camshaft thrust plunger
and thrust spring.
(15) Remove capscrew (21) and thrust plate (22).
(16) Remove idler gear (23).
(17) Remove thrust washer (24) and idler gear shaft (25).
