If plug (13) was removed, apply non-hardening sealant to outside diameter
of plug. Install plug in transmission housing bore.
Put bearing (7) on output shaft (8) then position output shaft in
hydraulic press. Press bearing onto output shaft using 2-1/8 inches
inside diameter sleeve bearing on inner race of bearing.
Start output shaft (8) and
bearing (7), splined end first,
into transmission housing.
Install transfer gear (9) in
transmission housing. Hold Up
transfer gear and start output
shaft into transfer gear. Aline
splines of output shaft with
splines in transfer gear. Pull
output shaft until bearing (7)
on opposite end of output shaft
is in transmission housing. If
necessary, use 2-1/8 inches
inside diameter sleeve bearing
on inner race of bearing and
soft hammer to push bearing
into position.
Install retaining ring (6) to
hold bearing (7) and output
shaft (8) in position.
Using hammer, start new oil
seal (5) into transmission
housing.
Use 3-1/2 inches outside diame-
ter sleeve bearing on outer
diameter of oil seal (5) to
drive oil seal into transmis-
sion housing. Drive oil seal
until it stops moving.
Lubricate lip of oil seal (5)
with lubricating oil.
Install output flange (4) on
output shaft (8).
Install new O-ring (3) on out-
put flange (4).
