TM 5-3605-262-34
2-16. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT)
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
3. ALL CYLINDER ASSEMBLIES OPERATE SLUGGISH OR POOR (Cont).
Step 3. Turn off engine.
Drain hydraulic reservoir and replace hydraulic filter (refer to TM
5-3605-262-20).
Repeat control valve neutral pressure check (page 3-621).
If neutral pressure is still not less than 500 psi, turn off en-
gine. Remove control valve hydraulic return lines and check for
dirt or other obstructions (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).
Step 4. Check main relief valve pressure setting (page 3-615).
a. If main relief valve pressure setting is not 2300 ±50 psi,
adjust (page 3-617).
b. If main relief valve pressure setting is okay, go to step 5
below.
Step 5. Perform flowmeter tests (page 3-627).
a. If flowmeter tests are not acceptable, and problem was in a
loader circuit, refer to Malfunction 1 or 2 (page 2-123). If
problem was in loader section of hydraulic pump, replace
hydraulic pump (page 3-612).
b. If flowmeter tests are okay, go to page 3-19 and check engine
stall speeds.
4. LIFT ARM, BUCKET, OR CLAM OPERATION TOO SLOW.
Step 1.
Check main relief valve pressure setting (page 3-615).
a. If main relief valve pressure setting is not 2300 ±50 psi,
adjust (page 3-617).
b. If main relief valve pressure setting is okay, go to step 2
below.
Step 2.
