2-16. HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TROUBLESHOOTING
MALFUNCTION
TEST OR INSPECTION
CORRECTIVE ACTION
1. BUCKET TILT CYLINDER ASSEMBLIES OPERATE SLUGGISH OR POOR (ALL OTHER CYLINDERS
OPERATE PROPERLY) .
Check circuit relief valves pressure setting (page 3-624).
a. if pressure setting is not 2550 to 2950 psi, adjust (page
3-624) .
b. If pressure setting is 2550 to 2950 psi, replace control valve
(page 3-647).
2. BUCKET CLAMSHELL CYLINDER ASSEMBLIES OPERATE SLUGGISH OR POOR (ALL OTHER CYL-
INDERS OPERATE PROPERLY).
Check circuit relief valves pressure setting (page 3-624).
a. if pressure setting is not 2550 to 2950 psi, adjust (page
3-624) .
b. If pressure setting is 2550 to 2950 psi, replace control valve
(page 3-647).
3. ALL CYLINDER ASSEMBLIES OPERATE SLUGGISH OR POOR.
Step 1.
Check control valve neutral pressure (page 3-621).
a. If neutral pressure is not less than 500 psi, go to step 2
below.
b. If neutral pressure is less than 500 psi, go to step 4 below.
Step 2.
With engine operating at full throttle, move each control lever a
small distance and check if pressure indication decreases.
a. If pressure indication decreases, replace control valve (page
3-647) .
b. If pressure indication does not decrease, go to step 3 below.
