(b) Full Load Governed Speed Adjustment.

Start engine and operate at idle speed until normal operating tempera-
ture is obtained.

Tell assistant to operate vehicle at full load and watch exhaust. If
light brown exhaust haze is visible, full load governed speed adjust-
ment is okay. If black smoke is visible , or if there is a lack of
power and no haze or smoke is visible, shut down engine and go to step
3 below.

Cut and remove two wire
seals from cover plate
capscrews. Discard wire
seals.

Remove four capscrews and
cover plate.
The following adjustment is sensi-
tive. Adjust full load delivery
screw no more than 5 degrees at a
time .
If you turn full load de-
livery screw too far, fuel in-
jection pump will require removal
and calibration on factory test
stand.

Loosen nut and turn full
load delivery screw no more
than 5 degrees using
screwdriver. Turn full load
delivery screw clockwise if
engine lacks power and no
exhaust haze or smoke was
visible; turn counter-
clockwise if black smoke was
visible.

Hold full load delivery screw using screwdriver and tighten nut.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 above. If necessary, readjust full load delivery
screw until light brown exhaust haze is visible during full load oper-
ation.
