TM 5-3805-262-343-1. ENGINE MAINTENANCE (CONT)a. EngineTune-up (SHEET12OF21).(6) Engine Compression Check (Cont).NOTEIf compression of each cylinder is equal to or greater than listed com-pression, go to step (1) below. If compression of one or more cylindersis less than listed compression, troubleshoot engine (page 2-43).(1) Identify and compare highest and lowest recorded compression values.Difference between two or more cylinder compression values should be nomore than 25 psig.NOTEIf difference between highest and lowest cylinder compression values isno more than 25 psig, go to step (m) below. If difference between two ormore compression values is more than 25 psig, troubleshoot engine (page2-44).(m) Test fuel injector nozzles (page 3-110).(n) Install fuel injector nozzles (page 3-113).(7) Fuel Injection Governor Adjustments.(a) No-Load Governed Speed Adjustment.1Start engine and operate at1200 rpm to reach normaloperating temperature.Tell assistant to press ac-celerator pedal fully, andpress tachometer against en-gine tachometer drive shaft. When tachometer pointer stopsmoving, record tachometer in-dication. Engine no-load gov-erned speed should be 2300 to2340 rpm.NOTETachometer drive shaft operates at half engine speed. Double tachometerindication to obtain engine rpm.If tachometer does not indicate specified no-load governed speed withengine at normal operating temperature, perform the following steps toadjust engine speed.3-14
