Install cover plate and four capscrews.

Install two new wire seals through capscrew heads. Crimp seals to se-
cure cover plate.
(c) Supplementary Idle Speed Screw Adjustment.

Start engine and operate at idle speed. Listen to engine while it
warms to normal operating temperature.
NOTE
If engine idles smoothly , supplementary idle speed screw is correctly
adjusted. Do the idle speed adjustment below. If you hear engine
suddenly drop to low rpm, then surge
Cut wire seal and remove
from cap nut and governor
cover capscrew. Discard wire
seal.
Remove cap nut and gasket.
Loosen nut and turn supple-
mentary idle speed screw
clockwise 1/8 turn.
Hold supplementary idle
speed screw using screw-
driver and tighten nut.
Listen to engine. Engine
should be idling at constant
speed.
NOTE
Turn supplementary idle speed
screw just far enough to
overcome
erratic
idling
condition.
If you turn the
screw too far clockwise it will
increase engine idle speed.
or speed up, go to step 2 below.

Repeat steps 4 thru 6 above until engine idles smoothly.

Install cap nut and gasket.

Install new wire seal through holes in cap nut and governor cover
capscrew. Crimp seal to secure cap nut.
