Crimp seals to se-cure cover plate.(c) Supplementary Idle Speed Screw Adjustment.1Start engine and operate at idle speed. Listen to engine while itwarms to normal operating temperature.NOTEIf engine idles smoothly , supplementary idle speed screw is correctlyadjusted. Do the idle speed adjustment below. If you hear enginesuddenly drop to low rpm, then surgeCut wire seal and removefrom cap nut and governorcover capscrew. Discard wireseal.Remove cap nut and gasket.Loosen nut and turn supple-mentary idle speed screwclockwise 1/8 turn.Hold supplementary idlespeed screw using screw-driver and tighten nut.Listen to engine. Engineshould be idling at constantspeed.NOTETurn supplementary idle speedscrew just far enough toovercomeerraticidlingcondition.If you turn thescrew too far clockwise it willincrease engine idle speed.or speed up, go to step 2 below.7Repeat steps 4 thru 6 above until engine idles smoothly.8Install cap nut and gasket.9Install new wire seal through holes in cap nut and governor covercapscrew.
