a. Engine Tune-up (SHEET 10 OF 21).
(5) Fuel Injection Pump Timing Adjustment (Cont).
(i) Move injection pump toward or away from engine until timing marks are
alined.
(j) Tighten injection pump mounting nuts to 35 to 42 lb-ft.
(k) Install new wire and crimp seal to secure adjustment.
(1) Install plug with gasket in timing gear cover.
(m) Install air compressor on engine mount bracket (refer to TM 5-3805-
262-20).
(n) Install valve covers and square tube (page 3-71).
(6) Engine Compression Check.
(a) Remove fuel injector nozzles (page 3-107)
and clean fuel injector bores in cylinder
heads (page 3-113).
(b) Install new nozzle gasket on compression
gage adapter. Use oil-soluble grease to
hold nozzle gasket in position.
(c) Install compression gage adapter and tighten to 35 to 45 lb-ft.
(d) Connect compression gage to compression gage adapter.
