capscrew, washer, and lock nut in engine mount (page 3-39).
lock nut to 135 to 165 lb-ft.
Remove chain hoist and lifting fixture from engine.
Secure transmission flex plate to engine flywheel:
Tell assistant to rotate flywheel using wrench on crankshaft pulley
capscrew until one mounting hole is at bottom of flywheel housing
opening.
Reach through flywheel housing opening and install one lock washer
(10) and capscrew (9).
Do not tighten capscrew (9).
Repeat steps 1 and 2 above to install each remaining capscrew (9) and
lock washer (10).
Have assistant rotate flywheel until one capscrew (9) is at bottom of
flywheel housing opening.
Tighten capscrew (9) to 25 to 30 lb-ft.
Repeat steps 4 and 5 above to tighten remaining capscrews (9).
position seal (8) and gasket (7) on cover plate (6), if removed.
Install cover plate (6) using capscrews (1 and 5), lock washers (2 and
4), and nuts (3).
Install plug in bottom of torque converter housing.
Connect ground lead to heater hose bracket (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).
Connect fuel supply hose to fuel feed pump, and connect fuel return hose
to fuel tank (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).
Connect wiring harness electrical lead to electric fuel pump lead (refer
to TM 5-3805-262-20).
Connect electrical lead to fuel level sending unit (refer to TM 5-3805-
262-20).
