TM 5-3805-262-34INSPECTIONNOTEReplace an item if inspection indicates need for replacement.(1) Inspect hoses (11 and 15) for cracks, kinks,cuts, chafing, or deteriora-tion. Cut a new length of hose as required: water pump hose (11) is 29inches long; engine block hose (15) is 15 inches long.(2) Inspect spring (26) for cracks,distortion, or permanent set. Use springgage to measure force required to compress spring to 1.81 inches. Replacespring if required force is not 6.8 to 7.2 pounds.(3) Inspect all other parts for cracks, distortion, or thread damageREASSEMBLY(1) Apply thread sealant to plug (24) threads.
