CLEANING
Remove
Remove
oil cooler (21) and seal (22) from base (28). Discard seal (22).
adapter (23) from base (28).
NOTE
Perform the following steps only if necessary for replacement.
Remove plug (24) using socket head screw key wrench.
Punch a hole in center of plug (25) and pry plug from base (28). Discard
plug (25).
Remove spring (26) and valve ball (27) from base (28).
Carefully remove metal protruding from three staked locations in base
(28) bore using round file and abrasive cloth.
Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will not exceed 30 psi. Use
only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment
(goggles/shield, gloves, etc). Failure to do so could cause serious
injury to eyes and possible blindness.
If you hurt your eyes or if a
foreign object is blown into your eyes, seek medical attention
immediately.
(1) Clean hoses (11 and 15) using clean cloth moistened with detergent. Clear
blockage using compressed air.
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.
Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated
area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and dont breathe
vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and dont smoke
when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-
come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical
attention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made, flush
with large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, wash eyes
with water and get medical aid immediately.
(2) Clean all other parts using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Clear passages in
oil cooler (21) and base (28) using compressed air. Dry using clean
cloths.
