b. Fuel Injection Lines (Cont).
INSTALLATION (SHEET 3 OF 5)
(12) Loosely connect leak off tubes (29
and 30) to fuel injector nozzles as
tagged. This will aline each fuel
injector with other injectors.
(13) Put a 3/8 inch open end wrench on
flats of fuel injector body to
hold fuel injector in alinement
with other fuel injectors.
(14) Tighten fuel injector body retain-
ing nut to 35 to 45 lb-ft using
7/8 inch Crowsfoot wrench.
NOTE
Repeat steps (13) and (14) above to tighten remaining fuel injectors.
(15) Using a Crowsfoot wrench, tighten compression nuts (28) on leak off tubes
(29 and 30) and tubular rivet (32) to 35 to 45 lb-ft.
NOTE
perform following steps only if check valve (27), sleeves (23 and 26),
or compression nuts (21 and 24) were removed, otherwise go to step (20)
below. For installation of fuel tank hose (25) refer to TM 5-3805-262-
20.
(16) Install check valve (27) in fuel injection pump and tighten.
(17) Slide compression nut (24) and sleeve (26) onto end of fuel tank hose.
(18) Push fuel tank hose (25) into check valve (27) and tighten compression
nut (24).
(19) Slide one compression nut (21) and sleeve (23) onto each end of leak off
tube (22).
(20) Position leak off tube (22) with compression nuts (21) and sleeves (23).
(21) Tighten compression nut (21) at check valve (27) hand tight only. Tighten
compression nut (21) at fuel injector nozzle to 35 to 45 lb-ft using a
Crowsfoot wrench.
