Mount fuel injection pump with
governor in swiveling vise us-
ing mounting flange and Ubrack-
et.
Remove fuel injection governor
(page 3-169).
Remove two capscrews (22) and
copper gaskets (23). Discard
copper gaskets (23).
Remove cover plate (24) and gas-
ket (25). Discard gasket (25).
Remove elbow (26).
Lift roller tappets from camshaft
lobes :
(a) Rotate coupling half until number 1 tappet spring is compressed (top
dead center).
(b) Install tappet holder with nose of bottom pawl between tappet capscrew
and nut.
(c) Press lever while guiding top pawl into housing recess.
(d) Repeat steps (a) through (c) above to lift remaining tappets from cam-
shaft lobes working in firing order sequence 1-5-3-6-2-4.
