TM 5-3805-262-34 MATERIALS/PARTS: Clean cloths (Appendix C, item 1) Cleaning solvent P-D-680 (Appendix C, item 2) Tags (Appendix C, item 3) Abrasive cloths (Appendix C, item 8) Thread sealant (Appendix C, item 32) Wire, anti-tamper (Appendix C, item 41) Seal, anti-tamper (FSCM 10988 PN A62746) Calibrating fluid (SAE J967) Paste, Molykote (FSCM 53867 PN Er 70 v 1) Gasket (FSCM 10988 PN A58615) Pump kit (FSCM 53867 PN DGK102) REFERENCE: TM 5-3805-262-20 NOTE PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE: Air compressor removed from engine mount bracket, fuel filters drained, and air compressor oil return hose disconnected from gear cover (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20); valve cover removed from No. 1 cylinder head (page 3-60), fuel feed pump removed (page 3-131); throttle control, fuel shutoff control, and fuel filter hose disconnected from fuel injection pump (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20); and oil and fuel lines disconnected from fuel injection pump (page 3-117). REMOVAL (SHEET 1 OF 2) (1) Crank engine using wrench on crankshaft pulley capscrew until TDC timing mark on crankshaft pulley is alined with timing pointer. (2) Check if No. 1 cylinder push rods are loose. If push rods are loose, No. 1 cylinder is at TDC on compression stroke: go to step (3) below. If push rods are tight, crank engine one complete revolution and aline TDC mark on crankshaft pulley with timing pointer. 3-137
