Install plunger in plunger tube located
in body until plunger is even with end
of plunger tube.
Connect multimeter between pump wire
lead terminal and clean metal area on
body. Multimeter should indicate no
continuity.
If multimeter indicated continuity in step (2) above, discard electric
fuel pump. If multimeter indicated no continuity in step (2) above,
remove plunger from body. Connect multimeter between wire lead terminal
and clean metal area on body.
Multimeter should indicate 17 to 60 ohms
resistance.
If multimeter indicated 17 to 60 ohms resistance in step (3) above,
breaker points and coil are okay, proceed to cleaning below. If multime-
ter indication obtained in step (3) above was not as specified, discard
electric fuel pump.
