TM 5-3805-262-34 REASSEMBLY 6 OF 6) (3) Push drive assembly toward starter to remove linkage. end play from shift lever (4) Measure distance between pinion and drive housing as shown, then release button on remote starter switch. ( 5) If distance between pinion and drive housing measured 0.33 to 0.39 inch, go to step (6) below. If distance did not measure 0.33 to 0.39 inch, remove solenoid (page 3-226) and plug with gas- ket (page 3-233). Adjust lock nut while holding plunger with one hand, install solenoid and plug with gasket, and repeat steps (2) through (4) above. (6) Disconnect batteries and remote starter switch from solenoid. ak. Connect free end of electrical lead to solenoid G terminal. Install lock washer and nut. Tighten nut to 16 to 30 lb-in. al. Install starter and solenoid (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20). 3-249
