Installing Safety Stands for Forks - Continued
WARN I N G
Stand clear of frame articulation area when machine is operating. There is no clearance for personnel in
this area when machine turns. Crushing could occur, resulting in injury or death to personnel.
5.
Install clevis pin (2) in bottom hole (6) of safety stand (1).
6.
Install cotter hair pin (4) to secure clevis pin (2).
7.
Lower forks until safety stands (1) are level on ground.
Removing Safety Stands from Forks
1.
Remove cotter hair pin (4) from clevis pin (2).
2.
Raise and tilt forks, then disengage locking pin.
3.
Maneuver forks until fork carriage is vertical.

4.
Remove clevis pin (2) from safety stands (1). Set safety stands aside.
5.
Lower fork carriage until forks are level.
6.
Secure safety stands IAW unit SOP.
