Testing Ride Control Valve - Continued
12.
Place tool level with the ground (TM 5-3805-290-10).
13.
Lower work tool to ground (TM 5-3805-290-10).
14.
Apply parking brake (TM 5-3805-290-10).
15.
Shut engine down (TM 5-3805-290-10).
16.
If front wheels lifted off ground, ride control valve is defective. Replace ride control valve (WP 0123 00).
Testing Automatic Ride Control Function
1.
Start engine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
2.
Place ride control switch (9) on instrument panel in ON position (TM 5-3805-290-10).
3.
Place transmission in a gear to travel above 6 mph (9.7 km/h) (TM 5-3805-290-10).
4.
Disengage parking brake (TM 5-3805-290-10).
5.
Raise work tool off ground (TM 5-3805-290-10).
6.
Drive machine above 6 mph (9.7 km/h) to activate
automatic ride control (TM 5-3805-290-10).
7.
When automatic ride control is activated, light in cen-
ter of ride control switch will illuminate. When ground
speed falls below 6 mph, light will turn off (TM 5-
3805-290-10).
8.
Stop machine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
9.
Lower work tool to ground (TM 5-3805-290-10).
10.
Engage parking brake (TM 5-3805-290-10).

Turn engine off (TM 5-3805-290-10).
12.
If automatic ride control did not activate (light did not illuminate), ride control pressure switch is defective. Replace ride

Place ride control switch (9) on instrument panel to ON position (TM 5-3805-290-10).

Lower work tool to ground (TM 5-3805-290-10).
4.
Move lift control valve to FLOAT position. This will relieve all hydraulic pressure in ride control accumulator (TM 5-
3805-290-10).
5.
Stop engine (TM 5-3805-290-10).
