WARN I N G
Wheels/tracks will move.
Keep personnel and objects clear of wheels/tracks.
Perform tests from side of machine.
Do not stand in front of or behind machine.
Failure to follow this warning may result in injuryor death to personnel.
20. Check pressure from ground drive joystick to pump (reverse direction).
a. Install tee connection in hose for reverse 1. Connect 600 psi (41.3 bar) gauge to selected test port.
b. Start engine and run at high idle (TM 5-3805-292-10).
N OT E
The pressure readings should vary from 300 to 400 psi (20.7 to 27.6 bar) at high idle for a
given angle on drive control joystick.
Make sure ground drive joystick is in full position.
c.
Move ground drive control joystick to reverse drive position (TM 5-3805-292-10).
d. Read pressure gauge while ground drive control is in reverse position and record reading.
e. Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-292-10).
f.
Move tee and gauge to the hose for reverse 2 and repeat steps b through e for reverse 2 port.
g. If pressure readings are not correct, replace tandem pump assembly (WP 0068 for M400W or WP 0078 for
M400T).
21. Check pressure from ground drive joystick to pump (forward direction).
a. Install tee connection in hose for forward 1. Connect 600 psi (41.3 bar) gauge to selected test port.
b. Start engine and run at high idle (TM 5-3805-292-10).
c.
Move ground drive control joystick to forward drive (TM 5-3805-292-10).
d. Read pressure gauge while ground drive control is in forward position and record reading.
e. Shut down engine (TM 5-3805-292-10).
f.
Move tee and gauge to the hose for forward 2 and repeat steps b through e for forward 2 port.
g. If pressure readings are not correct, replace tandem pump assembly (WP 0068 for M400W or WP 0078 for
M400T).
