C AU T I O N
Ensure the fuse is removed first. This will allow disconnection of the battery cables without
arcing. Failure to follow this caution may result in damage to equipment.
1. Remove fuse (Figure 1, Item 8).
N OT E
Note positive and negative connecting points. Tag cables prior to removal to ensure
correct installation.
Disconnect negative (black) cable first.
2. Remove four covers (Figure 1, Item 1) and nuts (Figure 1, Item 7) and disconnect six battery cables (Figure 1,
Item 6) from batteries (Figure 1, Item 9).
3. Remove nut (Figure 1, Item 3), washer (Figure 1, Item 4), hold-down (Figure 1, Item 5), and rod (Figure 1,
Item 2) from battery compartment.

Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support and use
assistance during procedure. Failure to follow this warning may result in injury to
personnel.
N OT E
Each battery weighs 60 lb (27.2 kg).
4. Remove two batteries (Figure 1, Item 9) from battery compartment.
