PILOT CONTROL VALVE TEST CONTINUED
10. Ensure load valve (Figure 36, Item 2) is fully closed by turning clockwise.
11. Start and run engine at 2,000 rpm (TM 5-2420-231-10).
12. Press POWER button (Figure 36, Item 5) to activate flow gauge (digital readout) (Figure 36, Item 4).
NOTE
Ensure jam nut is contacting base of load valve knob.
During adjustment, load valve knob may feel loose.
Step 13 must be performed in conjunction with steps 15-18.
13. Adjust load valve (Figure 36, Item 2) on flowmeter (Figure 36, Item 3) until pressure gauge (Figure 36, Item 1)
reads 2,000 psi (13,790 kPa) for each of the following tests.
14. Enable pilot control switch (TM 5-2420-231-10).
15. Swing backhoe to the left and hold swing in that direction (dead head). Read flow gauge (Figure 36, Item 4)
and record reading on flowmeter checksheet (6a).
16. Swing backhoe to the right and hold swing in that direction (dead head). Read flow gauge (Figure 36, Item 4)
and record reading on flowmeter checksheet (6b).
17. Raise left stabilizer and hold left stabilizer in raise (dead head). Read flow gauge (Figure 36, Item 4) and record
reading on flowmeter checksheet (6e).
18. Raise right stabilizer and hold right stabilizer in raise (dead head). Read flow gauge (Figure 36, Item 4) and
record reading on flowmeter checksheet (6f).
