DRAIN REAR DRIVE AXLE HOUSING OIL CONTINUED
NOTE
The procedure for wheel end drain and refill is identical for left-hand and right-hand drain
and refill. Left-hand wheel end is shown in this procedure.
Each wheel end capacity is 1.6 qt (1.5 L).
4. Disengage park brake (TM 5-2420-231-10).
5. Rotate axle wheel end (Figure 4, Item 1) so drain plug (Figure 4, Item 2) is at 6 o'clock position.
6. Remove drain plug (Figure 4, Item 2) and O-ring (Figure 4, Item 3) and allow to drain into a suitable container.
Discard O-ring.
7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 on left-hand wheel end.
