1. Attach slings and lifting device to backhoe dipper support arm.
WARNING
Use extreme caution when handling heavy parts. Provide adequate support during
procedure. Ensure any lifting device used is in good condition and of suitable load
capacity. Keep clear of heavy parts supported only by lifting device. Failure to follow this
warning may result in injury or death to personnel.
NOTE
Backhoe dipper support arm weighs approximately 1,100 lb (499 kg).
Remove plugs and caps from hydraulic fittings and hoses.
2. Using lifting device, install backhoe dipper support arm (Figure 12, Item 5) on machine.
3. Lightly grease pin and install pin (Figure 12, Item 4), washer (Figure 12, Item 1), washer (Figure 12, Item 2),
and nut (Figure 12, Item 3) on backhoe dipper support arm (Figure 12, Item 5). Tighten nut to 700 lb-ft
(950 Nm).
4. Lower dipper support arm (Figure 12, Item 5) onto trestle.
5. Remove lifting device and slings from backhoe dipper support arm (Figure 12, Item 5).
NOTE
Install bushing and backhoe dipper arm assembly in position and orientation noted during
removal.
6. Using backhoe coupler piston tool, install backhoe dipper arm (Figure 13, Item 3) and coupler bushing
(Figure 13, Item 2) on backhoe dipper support arm (Figure 13, Item 1).
