TM 5-3805-258-24-1H Y D R A U L I C S Y S T E M4.5.6.7.8.9.Move the tilt control lever to the TILT BACKdetent position. Roller (4) must go into detent(2) to keep the tilt control lever in the TILTBACK position. If roller (4) does not go intodetent (2), the length of rod (6) must bechanged. Loosen the locknut, against the endof the rod, and turn the rod to change thelength. When the length of rod (6) is correct, tighten the locknut against the end.Move lift control lever (1) to the RAISE detentposition and then to the FLOAT position. Theroller must go into detent (3) when the liftcontrol lever is in RAISE and when it is inFLOAT position. Change the length of rod (9)if detent (3) will not keep lift control lever (1)in either the RAISE or the FLOAT position.Loosen the locknut against an end on the rodand turn the rod to change the length of therod. When the length of rod (9) is correct, tighten the locknut against the end.Start the engine.Move lift control lever (1) to the RAISE detentposition. Whep the lift arms get to their maxi-mum height, lift kickout solenoid (11) mustactivate. [Rod (10) on the solenoid plungermust move into the solenoid.]Move the tilt control lever to the TILT BACKdetent position. When the bucket gets to itslevel position, bucket positioner solenoid (8)must activate. [Rod (7) must move into thesolenoid.] Stop the engine.Turn the disconnect and key start switches totheir ON position. Do not start the engine. Atthis time, both solenoids must be activated.10.11.12.13.14.15.16.17.T E S T I N G A N D A D J U S T I N GMeasure distance (A) at each solenoid whilethe solenoids ARE activated.Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.Put lift control lever (1) in the RAISE detentposition. Put the tilt control lever in the TILTBACK position. Each roller must be in its correct detent.Remove all slack (free movement) in the link-age.Measure distance (B) at each solenoid whilethe solenoids ARE NOT activated. Distance (B)must be the same as distance (A) plus 13 mm (.5in.).If distance (B) at a solenoid is not correct:a. Loosen the locknut on solenoid rod (7) or(10).b. Turn the solenoid plunger (on the rod) untildistance (B) is correct.Do Step 12 again and hold the levers in theirdetent positions. Turn the key start switch to theON position and back to the OFF positionseveral times. Do not start the engine.Do Steps 11 through 14 again. If distance (B)at each solenoid is not correct, do Step 15 again.Tighten each locknut when distance (B) iscorrect.4-80
