Dowel pins (FSCM 45225 PN CAS-1062A)
Dowel pin removal tongs (FSCM 45225 PN CAS-1061-2)
Injector bore cleaning tool (FSCM 45225 PN CAS-1411)
MATERIALS/PARTS: Clean cloths (Appendix C, item 1)
Cleaning solvent P-D-680 (Appendix C, item 2)
Engine lubricating oil (Appendix C, item 9)
Retaining compound (Appendix C, item 31)
Valve gasket kit (FSCM 10988 PN A157300)

NOTE
PRELIMINARY PROCEDURE: Exhaust and water
manifolds removed (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20),
intake manifold removed (page 3-104), fuel in-
jectors removed (page 3-107), and rocker arm as-
semblies and push rods removed (page 3-60).
REMOVAL
(1) Remove 10 capscrews (1) and washers (2).
(2) Lift cylinder head (3) from cylinder block.
(3) Remove and discard gasket (4).
(4) Loosen and remove two plugs (5) using
socket head screw key set only if
necessary for replacement.
NOTE
Don't remove studs (6, 7, and 8) unless inspec-
tion

indicates need for replacement.
Repeat steps (1) thru (4) above to remove
two remaining cylinder heads (3).
