REMOVAL
NOTE
Mark valves, spring seats, valve
locks, valve retainers, and cyl-
inder head locations to be sure
parts are installed in original
locations.
(1) Using valve spring compressor
installed on one exhaust valve
assembly (1 thru 7), compress
spring (3) and remove two
valve locks (l).
(2) Remove valve retainer (2),
spring (3), and spring
seat (4).

Remove and discard valve
stem seal (5).
Remove exhaust valve (6) from cylinder head.
Repeat steps (1) through (4) above to remove other exhaust valve assem-
blies.
Using valve spring compressor installed on one intake valve assembly (1,
3, 4, 5, 8, 9, and 10), compress spring (3) and remove two valve locks
(l).
Remove valve retainer (8), spring (3), and spring seat (4).
Remove and discard valve stem seal (5).
Remove intake valve (9) from cylinder head.
Repeat steps (6) through (9) above to remove other intake valve assem-
