Grease will become hard during operation of engine. This in turnwill(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(l0)(11)(12)cause difficulty when removing fuel injector,Install new nozzle gasket (2) on fuelinjector (l). Use oil-soluble greaseto hold nozzle gasket in position.Install fuel injector in cylinderhead bore. Turn fuel injector to aidinstallation. Fuel injector leak offfitting must be towards valve cover.Turn fuel injector retaining nutclockwise into bore.Loosely connect leak off line to fuelinjectors. This will aline fuel in-jector with other injectors.Put a 15 mm open end wrench on flatsof fuel injector to hold fuel injec-tor in alinement with other fuel in-jectors.Tighten fuel injector retaining nutto 35 to 45 lb-ft using 7/8 inchCrowsfoot wrench.Connect and hand tighten fuel inletline to fuel injector.If necessary, connect and hand tigh-ten leak off line between number onefuel injector and fuel injectionpump.Watch inlet fuel line while assistantcranks engine. Tell assistant to stopcranking engine when fuel comes outof inlet fitting.3-114
