(28) Rotate camshaft through a complete cycle in counterclockwise rotation as
viewed from drive end. Check for proper operation of tappets, springs,
and plungers in firing order sequence 1-5-3-6-2-4. Check that rack moves
freely. If any signs of improper operation are seen, you must disassemble
pump and check cause.
(29) Position cover plate (24) with new gasket (25) on housing.
(30) Install and tighten two copper gaskets (23) and capscrews (22).
(31) Fill housing chamber with clean calibrating fluid.
(32) Install fuel injection governor (page 3-185).
(33) Refer to troubleshooting (page 2-47) and bench test fuel injection pump
and governor.
(34) Install fuel feed pump (page 3-135).
