Check for proper operation of tappets, springs,and plungers in firing order sequence 1-5-3-6-2-4. Check that rack movesfreely. If any signs of improper operation are seen, you must disassemblepump and check cause.(29) Position cover plate (24) with new gasket (25) on housing.(30) Install and tighten two copper gaskets (23) and capscrews (22).(31) Fill housing chamber with clean calibrating fluid.(32) Install fuel injection governor (page 3-185).(33) Refer to troubleshooting (page 2-47) and bench test fuel injection pumpand governor.(34) Install fuel feed pump (page 3-135).3-163
