TM 5-3805-262-34INSTALLATIONDry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilatedarea. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and donut breathevapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and don’t smokewhen using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medicalattention immediately. If contact with skin or clothes is made, flushwithwith(1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6)(7)(8)(9)(10)large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, wash eyeswater and get medical aid immediately.Using clean cloth moistened with cleaning solvent P-D-680, clean controlvalve (4) mounting surface and machined surface on transmission. If ne-cessary, use putty knife to remove all gasket (5) residue.Position new gasket (5). Use grease to hold gasket (5) on transmissionhousing.Position control valve (4) and retaining bracket (6) (if used).Install 15 lock washers (2) and capscrews (3).Install lock washer (2) and capscrew (1). Tighten capscrews (1 and 3) to26 to 32 lb-ft. Do this by starting at center of control valve and work-ing toward outside until all capscrews are tight.Install back-up alarm switch, neutral start switch, and clutch pressureswitch (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).Install clutch cutout cylinder (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).Connect control valve linkage to control valve spool and adjust linkageas necessary (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).Fill transmission with oil (refer to TM 5-3805-262-20).Install engine right front side panel (refer to TM 5-3805-262-10).3-343
