a. Noise Reduction Pads (Cont).
CLEANING AND INSPECTION
(1)
Clean foam pads (1 thru 9) and headliners (10 thru 12) using clean water.
Steam clean if oily or greasy. Dry using clean cloths.
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.
Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated
area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and dont breathe
vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and dont smoke
when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-
come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical
attention immediately.
If contact with skin or clothes is made, flush
with large amounts of water.
If contact with eyes is made, wash eyes
with water and get medical aid immediately.
(2) Clean foam pad (1 thru 9) and headliners (10 thru 12) mounting surfaces
using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Remove all grease, oil, dirt, rust, and
foam material from surfaces.
(3) Inspect foam pads (1 thru 9) and headliners (10 thru 12) for tears,
cracks, oil, or grease. Replace if damaged or cannot be cleaned.
INSTALLATION
Adhesive used to glue foam pads (1 thru 9) and headliners (10 thru 12)
is toxic. Use only in a well ventilated area. Avoid contact with skin,
eyes and clothes and dont breathe vapors. Dont smoke when using it.
Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you become dizzy while
using adhesive, get fresh air and medical attention immediately.

Apply adhesive to foam pad (1)
mounting surface.
Install foam pad (1) on cab.
Repeat steps (1) and (2) above
to install eight remaining foam
pads (2 thru 9) and headliners
(10 thru 12).
Install plugs to secure
headliners (10 thru 12) to cab
ceiling.
Install operators seat (refer
to TM 5-3805-262-20).
