Check pins (12 and 23) for bent condition by rolling pins on flat sur-
face. If pins do not roll smoothly, replace.
Check pins (7) for bent condition by rolling on flat surface with retain-
ing ring welded to pin overhanging edge of surface. If pin does not roll
smoothly, replace.
Inspect thrust washers (4 and 8) for deformation, cracks, or distortion.
Measure thickness using micrometer; replace if thickness is less than
0.311 inch.
Inspect shims (5) for deformation, cracks, or distortion. Measure thick-
ness using micrometer; replace if thickness is less than 0.070 inch.
Check lubrication fittings (1, 2, 9, and 20) for deformation, distortion,
blockage, or thread damage.
Using bore gage, check inside diameter of bushings (15 and 27). Replace
bushings if inside diameter is more than 2.016 inches.
Using bore gage, check inside diameter of bushings (28). Replace bushings
if inside diameter is more than 2.516 inches.
Using bore gage, check inside diameter of bushings (29). Replace bushings
if inside diameter is more than 3.016 inches.
Using bore gage, check inside diameter of bushings (30 and 31). Replace
bushings if inside diameter is more than 3.018 inches.
Inspect shims (14 and 25) for cracks, breaks, or deformation. Check
thickness using micrometer. Replace shims if thickness is less than
0.0740 inch.
Check stop blocks (18) for cracks, breaks, or deformation. Measure thick-
ness using micrometer; replace if thickness is less than 1.245 inch.
Check shims (19) for cracks, breaks, or deformation. Measure thickness
using micrometer; replace if less than 0.0594 inch.
Inspect links (13), bellcrank assemblies (24), and lift arm (26) for
cracks, breaks, distortion, or deformation. Check for broken or rusted
weld joints. Repair cracks, breaks, or broken weld joints by welding.
Replace part if distorted or deformed. Paint after welding. If necessary,
chase threads in bellcrank assembly using 1/2-13 UNC-2B tap.
Inspect remaining parts for cracks, breaks, deformation, distortion, or
damaged threads. Replace parts as necessary.
