If valve lash requires adjustment several times in a short period of time, excessive wear exists in different part of engine.
Find problem and make necessary repairs to prevent more damage to engine.
2.
Not enough valve lash can cause rapid wear of camshaft and valve lifters and can indicate that seats for valves are worn.
3.
Valves become worn from these causes:
a.
Fuel injection nozzles operate incorrectly.
b.
Excessive dirt and oil on filters for inlet air.
c.
Fuel injection pump settings incorrect.
d.
Engine exceeds load capacity.
