CIRCUIT BREAKER INSPECTION AND TESTING

Inspect Circuit Breaker.

1. Inspect circuit breaker for damaged or corroded terminals.
2. Inspect circuit breaker for burned or damaged housing or RESET button. Replace circuit breaker if condition
found.
Test Circuit Breaker.

1. Turn ignition switch and battery disconnect switch to OFF position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
2. Depress RESET button to reset circuit breaker.
3. Turn battery disconnect switch to ON position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
4. Inspect circuit breaker. RESET button should remain depressed. If not, circuit breaker is defective or an
electrical fault exists in another part of the electrical circuit.
5. If possible, isolate circuit breaker as follows:
a. Turn ignition switch and battery disconnect switch to OFF position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
b. Disconnect one wire from rear of circuit breaker.
c.
Depress RESET button.
d. Turn battery disconnect switch to ON position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
e. Turn ignition switch to ON position (TM 5-3805-298-10).
(1) If button does not remain depressed, replace circuit breaker.
(2) If button remains depressed, circuit breaker is OK, proceed to step 6.
6. Turn ignition switch and battery switch to OFF position (TM 5-3805-298-10) and connect wire to rear of circuit
breaker.
