TM 5-3805-262-342-8. TRANSMISSION TROUBLESHOOTING (CONT)MALFUNCTIONTEST OR INSPECTIONCORRECTIVE ACTION4. LOSS OF POWER.Step 1.Check transmission oil level (refer to TM 5-3805-262-10). Add oil asnecessary.Remove clutch pressure switch from transmission control valve (referto TM 5-3805-262-20).Connect pressure gage hose to transmission control valve port fromwhich clutch pressure switch was removed. Be sure pressure gage hoseis long enough so that you can read gage from operator’s seat incab.Start engine and operate at idle speed. If CONV TEMP gage pointer isnot approximately 1/2 inch from bottom of gage:Be sure parking brake valve knob is pushed in.Press brake treadle and valve and move transmission control leverto H position.Increase engine speed to full throttle and hold for 30 seconds.Set transmission control lever to N position and operate engine atidle speed for ten seconds.Repeat the above until CONV TEMP gage needle is approximately 1/2inch from bottom of gage.Decrease engine speed to 800 rpm. Be sure transmission control leveris in N position. Pressure gage should indicate 135 psi.Press brake treadle and valve to prevent loader from moving. Withengine operating at 800 rpm, put transmission control lever in Rposition. Pressure gage should indicate 135 psi.2-90
