b. Differential Case and Gear Assembly (Cont).
CLEANING
Dry cleaning solvent P-D-680 used to clean parts is toxic and flammable.
Wear protective goggles and gloves and use only in a well ventilated
area. Avoid contact with skin, eyes and clothes and dont breathe
vapors. Do not use near open flame or excessive heat and dont smoke
when using it. Failure to do so could cause serious injury. If you be-
come dizzy while using cleaning solvent, get fresh air and medical
attention immediately.
If contact with skin or clothes is made, flush
with large amounts of water. If contact with eyes is made, wash eyes
with water and get medical aid immediately.
Compressed air used for cleaning purposes will not exceed 30 psi. Use
only with effective chip guarding and personal protective equipment
(goggles/shield, gloves, etc). Failure to do so could cause serious
injury to eyes and possible blindness.
If you hurt your eyes or if a
foreign object is blown into your eyes, seek medical attention
immediately.
(1) Clean cone and rollers (10) by immersing in cleaning solvent P-D-680 and
slowly moving up and down. Remove cone and rollers from cleaning solvent
and strike larger side of cone against a block of wood to dislodge solid-
ified particles of lubricant. Immerse again in cleaning solvent and
repeat above until cone and rollers are clean. Dry using compressed air.
Direct air stream across cone and rollers to avoid spinning. Dont spin
cone and rollers when drying; rotate slowly by hand to facilitate drying.
After drying, lubricate using clean hypoid gear oil. Keep in a clean
area.

Clean remaining parts using cleaning solvent P-D-680. Dry using com-
pressed air or clean cloths.
