a. Engine Tune-up (SHEET 6 OF 21).
(3) Valve Tappet Clearance Adjustment (Cont).
(f) Repeat step (d) above for remaining valves: refer to illustration la-
beled “NO. 6 TDC COMPRESSION STROKE.”
(g) Start engine and check that OIL PRESS warning indicator is not lit. Vi-
sually check rocker arms to ensure that they are receiving oil. Then
stop engine.
(h) Install valve covers and square tube (page 3-71).
(i) Start engine and operate for approximately one hour.
(j) Remove square tube and valve covers (page 3-60).
(k) Tighten cylinder head capscrews (page 3-50).
(1) Tighten rocker arm bracket capscrews (page 3-73).
(m) Repeat steps (a) thru (h) above for hot setting valve tappet clearance
adjustment .
(4) Valve Timing Check.
(a) Crank engine using wrench on
crankshaft pulley capscrew
until TDC timing mark on
crankshaft pulley is alined
with timing pointer.
